X is for XTC
Bet you thought the letter X would stymie me. It didn’t. We’re remaining in England and are headed off to Swindon today for the birthplace of the band, XTC.

It’s back to the UK for today’s guests. If you’re too young to remember The Who from your childhood, you’ll probably recognise a number of their songs since they were used as the theme song for the CSI programs. Who are You? Won’t get fooled again, and Baba O’Riley…
We’re returning to the US to Pasadena, California for today’s featured band, back to the days when David Lee Roth was their front man.
We’re flying off to Dublin, Ireland today to the place where the rock group U2 was formed. I’m featuring two of their songs today. First up is Sunday Bloody Sunday.
followed by New Year’s Day
Enjoy…
We remain in Canada and are headed east on Highway 401 to Kingston, Ontario (not far from where I live) for today’s group – The Tragically Hip.
We’re back in Canada, Toronto, Ontario specifically for today’s band. Their song I’m featuring today was in the movie Easy Rider with Peter Fonda among others.
Back north we go to the Isle of Skye in Scotland for today’s band. Runrig performs a combination of traditional Scottish music and rock music, or Celtic rock, if you will. I prefer their older material, back in the day when Donnie Munro was their lead singer.
We’re staying in London today’s group. Classic Queen back in the day before Freddie Mercury passed away. His vocal range was amazing.
To me, this is the quintessential Queen song.
We’re staying in Britain today but headed south to London for today’s musical guests.
Here’s a remixed version of the song with Pink Floyd and Swedish DJ and producer, Eric Prydz.
We’re off to Scotland for today’s band. And it’s a bit of a departure from the primarily rock theme, but they are a musical group so it remains true to my theme – musical groups/solo artists. Old Blind Dogs perform traditional Scottish music.
Have a listen to one of my favourites…
